About DaycareFacilities.org
Learn who publishes DaycareFacilities.org, why we built a national directory of child care centers, family child care homes, group child care homes, preschools, Head Start programs, school-age programs, and other child care providers from public licensing data, and how to reach us.
DaycareFacilities.org is an independent informational guide to child care providers across the United States — child care centers, family child care homes, group child care homes, preschools, Head Start programs, school-age programs, and other child care providers. Our mission is straightforward: take the public data that is already available about these providers and make it simpler to locate, understand, and weigh side by side.
Who we are
We are a compact editorial and engineering group that creates data tools for families, caregivers, researchers, journalists, and advocates. We are not a child care provider, a placement agency, a referral service, or a government body. We do not sell care, and we do not accept payment to alter how a provider is displayed in the directory.
What we publish
- Provider profiles assembled from public licensing datasets, such as state child care licensing registries, the Child Care Aware of America directory, and Head Start service location data.
- State, county, and city pages that give an overview of the providers located in an area.
- Plain-language guides covering choosing care, costs, licensing, and family rights.
- Compliance pages, this one included, that describe our methods and their limits.
What we do not do
- We never create or publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, ratings, or credentials.
- We do not rank providers in exchange for money, and no listing is sponsored in any way that changes the underlying data.
- We do not offer legal, financial, or placement advice.
- We do not claim any affiliation with any child care licensing agency or government agency.
How to use the site
Use the directory to shorten your list of providers worth contacting or visiting, and use the source data to prepare your questions. Data may be incomplete or may trail real-world conditions. Always verify the details directly with the provider and with the state agency that licenses it.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please let us know. We fix factual mistakes in our own content and re-pull data whenever the state licensing registries release updates. Visit the contact page.
